About PDI

In 1999, Ballard and Tighe became partners with the leader in online adult education, the Professional Development Institute, to create Online Professional Development — offering teachers and administrators across the country fully accredited professional development courses in a highly accessible online format.

The Professional Development Institute (PDI) provides quality online training to educators nationwide. PDI’s Director, Connie Ryan, has a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as years of experience as a teacher, trainer, and continuing education instructor. As a national presenter, Connie conducted staff development workshops all over the United States on topics such as technology, reading, assessment, and math. Connie has also written over 25 educational resource books for teachers. Most recently, she authored the technology standards and entire technology curriculum for grades K-12 for Santa Ana Unified School District in California. This curriculum was adopted by the SAUSD Board of Education and is now used by all 54,000 students in the district.

All of the courses offered by Ballard & Tighe are developed in collaboration with Ms. Ryan and PDI’s talented and knowledgeable instructors. All of the instructors at the Professional Development Institute are highly qualified and trained to teach the online course content. Each instructor is an expert at communicating ideas, concepts, and instructions.
